Blooming Flower Tea: How to Brew Jasmine, Hibiscus & Rose Blends
Share
The Art of Blooming Flower Tea
Blooming flower teas are as much a visual experience as a drink. When hot water meets a hand-tied bundle of dried flowers, it slowly unfurls into a blossom right in your cup, releasing delicate floral aromas. Whether you choose jasmine, hibiscus or rose, each bloom brings something different.
What Each Flower Brings
Jasmine
Jasmine has a sweet, heady fragrance and a light, delicate taste. It is perfect for a slow, mindful afternoon break.
Hibiscus (Roselle)
Hibiscus turns the water a stunning deep ruby red and adds a tart, cranberry-like flavor. It is especially refreshing iced.
Rose
Rose petals give a soft, romantic aroma and a gently sweet flavor. A little rose rounds out brighter flowers beautifully.
How to Brew Blooming Flower Tea
Step 1: Place a blooming tea ball or loose flower mix in a clear glass teapot or mug so you can watch it open.
Step 2: Heat water to about 80–85°C (175–185°F). Boiling water can make delicate flowers taste bitter.
Step 3: Pour the water gently over the flowers and watch the bloom unfurl over 3–5 minutes.
Step 4: Sip slowly and enjoy the color, aroma and flavor. Most blooming teas can be steeped 2–3 times.
Tip: A small amount of raw honey complements the floral notes without overpowering them.
